Gerardo Cabanillas
On January 16, 1995, two armed men committed a litany of crimes in Los Angeles. Ultimately, Gerardo Cabanillas was wrongfully convicted based on eyewitness misidentifications and Gerardo’s false confession, all elicited by detectives. One of the lead detectives in the case was known to obtain false confessions in other cases over the years.
